Ahoy there. I’m the Creative Director of Saunter, a studio I started after 10 years of working in-house at consumer brands you’ve maybe heard about. I live in Greenpoint and I like sailboats ⛵️, cities 🚇, and aging indie bands 🪩.
Work
The projects below aren’t updated all that often anymore, because most of my work is created under the Saunter banner these days, but it’s still a decent archive of stuff I used to do, and sometimes still do, too.
(If you caught that Mitch Hedberg reference, we should definitely work together.)
2025
Coming soon
Two projects that I’ve yet to complete case studies for: the launch of a brand-new dog food company called Tally’s Ranch, and a brand refresh for one of the pioneers in the clean, natural haircare space.
2024
A warm welcome for one of the most luxurious, yet most comfortable, seating collections Burrow has ever made.
2024
The first teak outdoor collection from Burrow, at home in backyards and bungalows from Santa Monica to Southampton.
2023
Burrow is known for smart, stylish indoor furniture. But now we’re taking this whole thing outside.
2022
Sho Shibuya and I teamed up to create a poster for a documentary and immersive exhibit about Bernie Krause, commissioned by Fondation Cartier.
2021
I helped artist Sho Shibuya create the concept for his exhibition at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2021, presented by Yves Saint Laurent.
2018
Burrow is a new kind of furniture company. It’s not a normal furniture company. We made some commercials that said as much.
2015–2024
Older stuff that I still love
About
Still reading, are we? You and I must be similar: I read every last word on websites, on boxes, on signs and walls and windows out walking around the city. Always have. Might explain why I became a writer!
As you may have read above, I’m the Founder & Creative Director of Saunter, a small creative studio that primarily focuses on brand identities, web design, and the content that brings both to life. Before that, I was the Creative Director at Burrow, where I led the in-house creative team produce everything from on-location productions and TV commercials to the assembly instruction booklets that came with the furniture.
What else? In addition to freelance work for a diverse array of consumer brands, I also co-created Plastic Paper, a creative platform for sustainability projects. I studied English at the University of Missouri, specifically Creative Nonfiction, which is to say that I read and wrote a lot of essays, which probably explains why I love to write manifestos and I’m too sincere for my own good. I grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts and before I lived in New York, I spent a solid chunk of time in Minneapolis, which is a very nice city.
If you’re in need of ideas, words, or very well made decks in exchange for money, send me an email.
If you’re in need of friendship, lame jokes, street safety commentary, and the occasional riff on sports or tech or business or food, find me on the internet.

You can see my complete work experience on LinkedIn, but here’s a quick sampling of employers and clients I’ve worked with:
